Registrations received after June 30th are not guaranteed a tee shirt and are available while supplies last. We do not re-order race tee shirts post event, so be sure to register your racer before the cut-off date to ensure they receive a shirt.
USA Triathlon Membership & Sanctioning
All of our events are sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT). An Annual Youth Membership must be purchased for each to participate. This membership provides the athlete with accident insurance coverage for the race. Your racer will not be able to participate under a parent’s USAT membership number. Every athlete is required to have their own membership.
USA Triathlon offers a Youth Annual Membership for $10. This 12-month membership covers any USA Triathlon sanctioned event, anywhere in the USA. During the registration process, you can purchase or renew your racer’s USAT membership. For more information, please visit USA Triathlon.
The term “USAT sanctioned” refers to the approval by USAT of compliance and safety procedures when creating a multisport event. Safety plans, course maps, and event details are submitted and reviewed by experienced USA Triathlon staff and are only approved when race directors follow USAT’s required standards.
Kidz who are ages 3 to 12 on race day can participate. NOTE: Younger racers MUST be potty-trained to participate.
Finisher medals will be given to all participants!
It’s important that we can communicate with our race families leading up to race weekend. We do this in three ways:
1) Email – When you register your racer and enter your email address into the imATHLETE system, we strongly encourage you not to use a business email address. Many company firewalls block email they consider to be spam, and you will not receive important announcements from us leading up to race weekend. Also, be sure to check and re-check the email address you entered to ensure it’s correct. Too often, we hear from parents that they’re not receiving our emails and it’s either blocked by a business firewall, entered incorrectly, or in space somewhere.
2) Text – We have a cool text capability to communicate with you, so please opt in to receive text messages from us before checking out of the imATHLETE system. This is another fail safe if, for some reason, you are not receiving our emails.
3) Facebook – Like and Follow us on Facebook, as we post updates leading up to race weekend.
Race entry fees are Non-Refundable and Non-Transferable. However, we know sometimes things come up such as injuries, illness, family emergencies, etc. We have the following policies in place to give you as much flexibility as possible within a framework that allows us to continue putting on high quality races. Please understand that there are specific registration cut-off dates, where we have finalized orders for shirts, awards, medals, and dozens of other items. The options you have are below.
PARTICIPANT PROTECTION INSURANCE—Race insurance is available for all of our events and must be purchased when you register online—it cannot be purchased at a later date. The cost is a $7.99 or 6.75% of the cost of registration, whichever is greater. Details on what the insurance covers can be found HERE. Remember, this insurance must be purchased at the time of registration.
DEFERRALS—If a racer cannot participate in the event for ANY reason, you have the option of a one-time deferment of their registration into the following years’ race. The deferral request must be made from within the racer’s profile in IMAthlete, and must be done at least 14 days prior to race day. There is a $15 fee to defer their event to the following year. If this event is unavailable in the following year, you will be given a credit to use at another event.
INCLEMENT WEATHER—In the event of inclement weather, the following procedure will be followed: The event will go on a hold up to 45 minutes in the hope that the inclement weather will pass. Every effort will be made to have this event on time on this date. If conditions are deemed to be unsafe, versus just challenging, we will cancel the event. Every situation is different, but know that we plan our events to go on rain or shine. If it’s just raining, we race.
EVENT CANCELLATION—Should this event be cancelled due to an Act of God or any circumstance beyond the control of race management, we will provide you a credit good for 50% of your registration fee for any race we own, to be used in the following year. So if you paid $40 to race, you will receive a coupon good for $20.
